The collection is a eclectic mix of fabrics, prints and colours.

The collection goes on sale on March 8th and I already know what pieces I will be snatching up as soon as it goes on sale.

What were your London Fashion Week highlights?

The collection was styled by Georgia Nash and worn by band The Gypsy Switch as they played a gig at the The Dublin Castle.

What do you think of the collection?

Lana was on the front row of the hottest London Fashion Week show, clutching her very own Mulberry bag; in white ostrich skin with gold fastenings. ‘Emma [Mulberry Creative Director] knew that I really only wear white and gold on the stage, and I kind of like all things exotic, so here’s my white ostrich bag…and then you might have seen a couple more bags on the runway? So yes, it’s really special’.

Mulberry Creative Director, Emma Hill said ‘I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined and elegant, yet with a beautiful practicality that would suit any woman. We love its perfect proportions and effortless simplicity.  As soon as the sketches were completed it felt so familiar, loaded with classic Mulberry heritage DNA.’

Alexa has twice won the Vodafone British Style Award at the British Fashion Awards and is said to be the epitome of ‘London Style’ as well as a world wide fashion icon.

A press release from the BFC stated;
“Through her new role as ambassador, Alexa will support the British Fashion Council as it continues to promote British fashion design talent to a global market. Alexa will continue to attend key events as part of the BFC’s annual calendar including London Fashion Week, the British Fashion Awards, LONDON show ROOMS and events for Fashion 2012, the BFC’s cultural platform of fashion events during the Olympic year.”

Alexa regularly receives praise for championing London’s most up and coming
design talents and having appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar; she has been a brand ambassador for multiple labels and muse to designers because of her distinctive personal style.

Alexa Chung commented;
“I always name London first when asked which city in the world has the best style. There’s something so inherently rebellious about how people naturally style themselves. Brits aren’t afraid to experiment or take risks with how they look, perhaps that’s why London has always been home to the most dynamic and daring designers in the world. I adore fashion and am proud that it’s now officially my job to champion those London
designers both new and established that inspire me so much.”

Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, commented;
“We’re delighted to announce this role for Alexa. She is hugely influential in both the fashion industry and to the wider public, who have voted her as winner of the British Style Award at the British Fashion Awards for two years running.”

Jeremy Scott sent his 90′s nostalgia fall AW2012 collection down the runway this week at Milk Made.

There are candy coloured emoticons, metallic rainbow-hued computer keyboard patterns, iridescent skirts and knitwear depicting Bart Simpson was accompanied by a soundtrack that included video-game sound effects, Japanese-language covers of Madonna songs and the once familiar AOL “You’ve got mail” alert.

“A very different, and more childish ’90s inspiration compared to the grungy, post-punk outings we’ve seen from more conventional designers.” quoted one fashion journalist, and although the looks may not be entirely wearable, the pop culture crash is definitely fun.

What do you think of the collection?

Of all the Fashion Weeks, London has always seemed the quirkiest and the most accessible, mixing high fashion with high street brands, embracing new designers and celebrating home grown talent in the way Paris, New York and Milan don’t.

Kicking off at 9am with Antoni & Alison tomorrow morning, there will be over 97 catwalk shows over the next 5 days. We are most looking forward for shows from the following British designers; PPQ, Henry Holland, Unique (Topshop), Mulberry, Temperly London, and Alexander McQueen.

Other collections we are looking forward to are Richard Nicholl, Acne, Erdem and of course Mary Katrantzou, who’s Topshop collection hit stores tomorrow as well.

Which shows are you most looking forward to?

Georgia commented, “The collection is completely different to what you have seen from the label before, there will be a lot of Music & Fashion press there so please arrive in good time due to the popularity of the gig”

The Gypsy Switch have been described as a poppy mariachi tinged gypsy folk with an eastern European influence, snappy hooky tunes, and they will be playing along side The Paris, The Worms and The Red Bullets at indie and rock and roll institution The Dublin Castle.

Victoria revealed that, “There isn’t one thing in the collection I wouldn’t wear myself. I want to wear everything!”

The collection consist of an impressive 22 body-hugging dresses with plenty of military touches and the odd baseball uniform reference thrown in for good measure.

On the front row sat David Beckham next to Vogue editor Anne Wintour.
