Dolce & Gabbana are all about the education. That’s why they’re setting up a new platform for their own little budding designers. Mind you, platform seems to downplay the fact they’re getting their own retail outlet!
Named Spiga2 and opening in Milan this weekend, Dolce is letting it’s best and brightest show off their works – including the likes of Peter Jensen (pictured), Behnaz Sarafpour, Sophie Theallet, Yigal Azrouël, Fannie Schiavoni, Erkan Coruh and Heather Williams.
“We wanted to create a new, special place, unique in the world,” Dolce and Gabbana told WWD. “With this project, we give the emerging designers we have handpicked from all over the world visibility, offering them a real opportunity.”
It’s expected there will be a quick turnover of designers as more and more get a chance to showcase their styles. Also on show will be the Dolce accessories range. Dolce and Gabbana hope the new space will become a home for “young generations” and a place “where tradition looks to the future”. Very fancy!
