Emma Watson’s final People Tree collection

No stranger to the emerging world of fair trade fashion, British actress-come-model-come-occasional-designer Emma Watson is creating her third and final collection for ethical brand People Tree.

After collaborating with the green label to increase the demand for ethically produced clothes, Ms. Watson has acheived great things with the business venture, funding a good cause and making fairtrade clothes cool again.
“I designed the collection last year after I’d started university in the US,” Watson told Vogue UK. “Safia, People Tree’s founder, and Misato, People Tree’s designer, came out to work with me in Rhode Island. Together we decided on all the colours, fabrics, shapes and craft skills. Most of all, we took care to design a really wearable collection that truly celebrates the traditional skills of People Tree’s fair trade groups around the world.”
Her final collection will see just how far the young superstar has come with a grown-up aesthetic focused on easy jersey harem pants, sleek blazers and delicate day dresses alongside polka dot patterns and cute, girly gingham – the former Burberry ambassador has certainly gone out with a stylish blast.

Tali Lennox takes a step into the limelight

Tali Lennox, younger daughter of musical legend, Annie Lennox and Israeli film producer, Uri Fruchtmann, is now the star of cult Swedish label, Acne’s newest lookbook shoot.

Modeling a collection of tailored T-shirts, embellished denim jackets, voluminous trousers and leather separates, Tali was photographed by none other than Acne’s creative director himself, Jonny Johanssan.

‘I was in Lismore Castle [an Irish castle, home to generations of Dukes of Devonshire] in the summer. It inspired me to do something incredibly classic that I have never done before’ said the Swedish designer of the collection, which Tali’s classical beauty and fresh-faced youth embodies completely.

But who is Tali Lennox?

Well, aside from being the offspring of musical royalty, 17-year-old Tali has been quietly making a name for herself in the modelling world since her debut in September 2009, when she hit the Dolce & Gabbana spring/summer 2010 runway, alongside older sister Lola, and Daisy Lowe.

Follow that up with two Topshop campaigns, including one for Topshop’s Freedom jewellery , and suddenly she is catwalk gold, notching up shows for Christopher Kane, Burberry Prorsum , Roberto Cavalli and Prada last season, to name just a few. She’s also carving a name for herself as a London fashion authority, sharing her daily style secrets on the Vogue ‘Today I’m wearing…’ blog.

If this Acne campaign is anything to go by, we’ll be seeing a lot of her on the catwalks in London, Milan, and Paris, starting in February, taking her one step further out of her mother’s shadow and into the fashion limelight.

Helena Bonham Carter Defends Her Mismatched Shoes

Last week we reported on Helena Bonham Carter’s fashion ‘disaster’.

She now admits she’s made some fashion mistakes, but doesn’t care as she thinks fashion should be all about having fun. We agree – within reason!

“Sometimes I get it right and I sometimes I get it wrong,” Bonham Carter, 44, tells PEOPLE. “But fashion is all about having fun. I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mold and seeing that the world won’t crumble.”

…“Why not wear mismatching shoes? Who says we can’t? I was just having fun,” says Bonham Carter. “For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That’s what I love. I genuinely love dressing up.”

Kelly Osbourne to model Madonna’s fashion line

Kelly Osbourne is rumoured to be the new face of Madonna’s clothing line.

The iconic singer and her 14-year-old daughter Lourdes launched their range Material Girl last year. It has previously been modelled by Taylor Momsen, but new reports suggest Kelly will take over in the coming months.

Lourdes is known to be a huge fan of TV star Kelly, publicly declaring she is one of her fashion inspirations. It is thought it was the teenager who suggested Kelly would be perfect to promote the range.

“Kelly’s always been a massive fan of Madonna and recently heard Lourdes idolised her, which she was very flattered by. It’s a huge coup,” a source explained to British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

Last week Kelly hinted she had a huge deal in the works, telling her Twitter fans she had been up to something very exciting but was sworn to secrecy due to a confidentiality agreement.

The star has become something of a style icon of late, after losing around 42lbs. following her stint on Dancing with the Stars. She has embraced her new figure, and is regularly seen out in fashion forward dresses at runway shows.

Kelly’s famously outspoken mother Sharon Osbourne has been rude about Madonna in the past, slamming her for being “cold and very rude” several years ago.

However, Sharon has reportedly been supportive of Kelly’s new venture. “Sharon and Kelly are very, very close and she will support her daughter with all her heart, like she does all her children. If Kelly ends up modelling for Material Girl, it will be great,” another source told British newspaper The Daily Star.

Mini Gaga

Anna Chong, a 23 year old designer from the London College of Fashion has revealed her latest collection, a collection of fierce fashion-forward pieces aimed specifically at dolls. In short, a miniature collection of Lady Gaga’s finest fashion moments. Created for Harumika mini mannequins, (teeny tiny dressmakers dolls for kids, launching in the UK tomorrow at the London Toy Fair) the collection comprises nine of La Gaga’s best-known outfits, including the iconic rubber dress and lobster hat she wore in London after the final night of her ‘Monster’s Ball’ tour, the American flag two-piece from the video for ‘Telephone’ and the bonkers bubble dress from the cover of Rolling Stone. BUT, most brilliantly loon-based of all, is a pint sized version of Gaga’s now-infamous meat dress.

Fashion police on high alert at Aussie Open

“Nude” underwear and black knee-socks have led a parade of women’s fashion disasters at the Australian Open, in a welcome distraction from some humdrum tennis.

Fashion police were alerted when aspiring designer Venus Williams took the court in her “Alice in Wonderland” creation, a yellow criss-cross number showing large amounts of flesh.

The ensemble was completed with a tiny patterned skirt and Venus’s famous “nude” shorts, which give the impression she has forgotten to put on knickers.

“The outfit is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Don’t laugh,” she said. “It’s kind of about a surprise, because when Alice goes down the hole, the rabbit hole, she finds all these things that are so surprising.”

Fellow competitors were certainly taken aback, and did not temper their comments about the unusual attire, which one wag said looked like a garden trellis.

“It looks a little uncomfortable,” said Russia’s Nadia Petrova. “I hope she doesn’t have a tan like a chess board afterwards.”

However Petrova could hardly talk after appearing in a frilly purple and blue outfit which she frankly admitted was not really her.

“It wasn’t my design… it doesn’t really flatter my physique,” she told the Herald-Sun newspaper. “I think that outfit would look cute on someone like Maria Kirilenko, who’s a little bit smaller and has this really petite figure.”
