Africa Calling!!!

When I think of African inspired fashion, I think bold colours, intricate ethnic design, iridescent tones, tribal shapes, and definitely statement making. We see African inspired fashion on the high street all the time without even realising it!!! I was more than ecstatic  when I heard that for summer 2012 tribal is BACK!!! **Happy Shimmy** another surge in Afrocentric exoticism is way overdue!

The ASOS Africa range is an ongoing project with the online mega shop and SOKO, the charitable organisation they work with to produce the ASOS Africa collection.  £5.00 from each ASOS Africa garment sold will go directly to SOKO, and I might add the collection is tres exquisite 🙂

This gorgeous top from theASOS Africa collection features a vibrant Kitenge print from Tanzania.

Mara Hoffman’s 2012 swimwear collections debuted key pieces for next summer, like this gorgeous summer dress, and whilst not everyone can carry off tribal pieces I think the experimentation is definitely worth it!!! The collection also included:

This smock would pop on the beach!!!

Shop this collection at Mara 😉

And if you want to get a head start on the trend, then shop Boxing Kitten’s 2011 Autumn collection, the designer mainly focuses on Afrocentric prints, and her winter collections are to die for!!!

Notice the polka-dot mesh detail, also a big look for next season!

You can shop this collection at Boxing Notice the dalmatian print pumps… LOVE!

If like me, you happen to have a friend making  a trip to the African continent this summer, ask for lots of quirky print fabrics, and get your own tailored made play suit/summer dress in time for next season!!!
