Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is donating her infamous red beaded Antonio Berardi gown to the British Heart Foundation’s Tunnel of Love auction which takes place later this year.
Worn to the New York premiere of her film debut Transformers: Dark of the Moon last June, the sparkling Jessica Rabbit-esque gown is from Berardi’s autumn/winter 2011 collection and was the highlight of the British beauty’s promotional tour, solidifying her status as red carpet royalty.
On May 29, the dress will be auctioned alongside donations from artists Sir Peter Blake and Damien Hirst, and ‘It’ girls Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe, who is a spokesperson for the event which will raise money for the British Heart Foundation’s Mending Broken Hearts appeal.
“I’m so proud to be the face of Tunnel of Love in 2012. Join me for an evening of 1920s glitz and glamour to help the nation’s heart charity raise vital funds to mend broken hearts” Daisy Lowe said of the event, proceeds from which will go towards groundbreaking research into ‘mending’ hearts that have already been damaged by heart attacks.
The auction is set to be a star-studded affair, with last year’s guest list including models Erin O’Connor, Laura Bailey and David Gandy, as well as pop stars Rachel Stevens and The Saturdays’ Mollie King.
