Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s lingerie collection goes on sale

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley unveiled her lingerie collection this week, in collaboration with British underwear institution Marks & Spencer.

The 33 piece vintage-inspired designs were shown to the fashion press with Rosie and Soozie Jenkinson, Head of Lingerie Design at Marks & Spencer.

On her inspiration for the collection Rosie said: “I’ve been collecting vintage lingerie, in particular silk kimonos, since I was 16, picking pieces up on modelling assignments in Paris and New York. I really love Art Deco styles from the ’20s and ’30s – the ’30s is my favourite era. The navy Deco set really channels this style with the fan detailing on the bra and the seams – and I made sure the knickers were smooth, so there would be no VPL.”

She continued to explain that this was a collection designed for all women:
“It was really important for me to design this range for all women, in all shapes and sizes. We’ve worked really hard to make the designs accessible, and to make them work in a range of sizes.”

Jenkinson added that keeping the price point low, without compromising quality, was another important goal. “We wanted to create something luxurious but affordable.”

Pprices start at £12.50 for knickers, through to £22.50 for bras and £65 for silk kimonos.

Del Ray in the making

Inspired by the singer Lana Del Ray, the Del Ray has become an instant hit with Mulberry lovers since going on sale in May with prices ranging from £795 for plain lather style to £3,500 for black ostrich skin.

“We took a classic Fifties shape – that’s very her – and what we did to it was very us” Mulberry creative director Emma Hill told the Telegraph.

The bag is hand crafted in Somerset in Mulberry’s factory and Mulberry have released a video set to the music of Lana Del Rey’s single ‘Summertime Sadness’ showing the attention to detail craftsmanship and time that goes into making every bag. and in turn reminding us why each bag costs so much for British quality.

What on earth is a Facekini??

There is a new craze in China – the Facekini.

Going to extraordinary lengths NOT to get a tan, the new item of beachwear – dubbed the Facekini – causing something of a stir in the coastal tourist city of Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.

The masks completely cover the swimmers’ heads, revealing only their eyes, noses, and mouths.

Pristine, wrinkle-free skin is highly prized in Asia, and any signs of sun exposure suggest you’re part of the working class, much as it was all over the world decades ago.

The clothing was invented around seven years ago and is now under mass production and on sale at swimwear stores along the coast.

Will you be wearing one at the beach?
