British Vogue has reported that Minnie Mouse is getting a style upgrade, courtesy of designers including Richard Nicoll, Giles Deacon, Piers Atkinson, and Meadham Kirchhoff.
As part of the Disney collaboration, the designers will be creating one-off garments inspired by her signature bows and polka dots, during London fashion week in a collection called the Minnie Mouse Must Haves.
The collection will be auctioned on eBay for charity Fashion Arts Foundation, which aims to promote and nurture relationships between the fashion, film, music and art worlds.
“Minnie Mouse and her unique style continue to inspire fans across the world,” said The Walt Disney Company fashion and home vice president Marc Low. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with such visionaries to create these one-off designs. Surpassing trends, Minnie Mouse’s iconic silhouette, signature bows and polka dots always remain in style, which is why she is as relevant today as the day she first appeared on the fashion scene. London Fashion Week is the perfect stage for Disney, one of the world’s largest apparel brands, to put a spotlight on Minnie Mouse.”
