Tommy Hilfiger supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

American brand Tommy Hilfiger is pledging its support of Breast Cancer Awareness, which starts on Monday October 1st, with the launch of a new limited-edition tote.

Anglo-French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg models the oversized tote which comes in navy mottled leather with red straps and rose gold hardware.

Gainsbourg was shot by Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore, who has branched out into professional photography of late, recently shooting up-and-coming actresses for V magazine.

“It was great to work with Drew,” said Gainsbourg, whose mother Jane Birkin was the inspiration behind the iconic Hermès bag which bears her name. “She was very charming and lively and funny, and she brought really positive energy to the set. As a fellow actress, she made me feel very comfortable during the shoot.”

The limited-edition bag is on sale now, retailing at £255, from which a generous £100 from each sale goes to Breast Health International, a leading non-profit foundation that advances breast cancer research and treatment. It is the sixth consecutive year that Tommy Hilfiger has pledges support to BHI.

Rosie’s latest underwear offering

British model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has launched her latest Rosie for Autograph designs for Marks & Spencer. Her debut in August was the high street retailer’s fastest-selling lingerie collection; the vintage-inspired underwear sets, silk teddys and lacy wraps proved an instant hit with four pieces sold every minute on the day it launched.

Clockwise from top left: Silk top, £39.50; Silk teddy £45; Rose print silk cami £35, shorts £17.50; Long silk and lace wrap, £59; Silk pad bra, £22.50, Brazilian knicker, £12.50; Silk and lace wrap, £59.

The new drop of underwear sets also have a festive feel to them: silk camisoles, bras, briefs and nighties come in black or are adorned with the line’s signature rose print.

“My goal was to create a luxurious collection which could flatter women of all ages and sizes, inspiring confidence and making women feel gorgeous in their lingerie” she says. “I made sure each design incorporated different shapes of bra and knicker together with camis and kimonos to complement the figure.”

Bra sizes range from 30-40, with cup-sizes from A to E and selected styles available up to G. Knickers and sleepwear sizes are available from 8 to 20.

Victoria Beckham’s Modelling Shoot From 1992

We have all got embarrassing photographs and this week Victoria Beckham has had a portfolio of previously unseen photo’s taken when she was 18 resurface for all to see.

Modelling with a chair, wearing a leather waistcoat, without a bra and smiling is a far cry from the usually very controlled and immaculate Victoria Beckham we now know.

The Kate effect continues

The Duchess of Cambridge’s influence on fashion continues as Marks & Spencer have seen sales sore of a certain Kate favorite wardrobe essentials – the nude court shoe.

The high-street department store Marks and Spencer has sold an average of one pair of their Limited Collection patent courts in ‘caramel’ every two minutes over the last seven day. Marks and Spencer say that the appearance of the shoe in their latest ad campaign it is assumed that the real reason is the masses trying to emulate the Duchesses fashion choices.

Nude court shoes have soared in popularity since the Duchess began wearing an £195 L.K. Bennett pair at an array public appearances.  Marks and Spencer pair are at the fraction of the price at £19.50 making them very accessible to those trying to steal the Duchess style.

“Nude court shoes have always been a popular style for us however, their popularity has grown by royal proportions over the last year and even more so since featuring in our September TV Ad,” said Sally Ambrose, head of buying and footwear at M&S. “Although celebrity influence can often be a factor to increased sales the nude court shoe is a classic wardrobe staple that every woman should own.”

Kanye West doesn’t show at Paris Fashion Week.

After two season of very poor reception at Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West will not return to Paris Fashion Week to show his Dw by Kanye spring/summer 2013 collection, reports WWD.

The rapper showed his debut spring/summer collection last October with a  front row that included Vogue editors Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld as well as the Olsen twins.

The collection was met with a rather luke-warm reception and poor reviews and none of the clothing ever made it into stores – except for a (£3,700) pair of shoes designed in collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti, which were stocked in Paris boutique Colette and worn frequently by now girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

He is rumored to be planning a shoe line in collaboration with his reality TV-star girlfriend Kim Kardashian having reportedly been spotted meeting with the CEO of PPR to discuss the super deal.
