Tidla Swinton for Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh collection


Tilda Swinton has landed a new role, as Karl Lagerfeld’s new muse. She is now the face of the 2012-13 Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh collection, and now pictures from the campaign have been released.

Tilda Swinton is the perfect casting for Karl’s Scottish collection, which was inspired by Mary Queen of Scots. In the campaign she goes back to her Scottish roots, modelling tartan and Highland overcoats in front of medieval tapestries and oil paintings.

Karl said: ‘Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection. She is of course Scottish, but more than that she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.’

No Doubt to collaborate with Fred Perry

After collaborations with the late Amy Winehouse, designer Richard Nicoll and Olympic gold medalist Bradley Wiggins, Fred Perry’s latest collaboration is with Gwen Stefani fronted No Doubt.

No Doubt, The Southern California-based group have worked on “a collection of classic Fred Perry styles, referencing their ska and reggae roots and tapping into Fred Perry’s relationship with subculture,” according to WWD.


“Fred Perry is a classic inspiration that has been part of our style since the beginning. Doing this collaboration is an honour” said Stefani, who already has her own fashion label, L.A.M.B.

The range will debut in the US in January 2013 and launch in the UK in spring, with highlights including slim-fitting shirts for both sexes, Fifties-style bomber jackets and a punk-inspired tartan-check V-neck sweater.
