Embellished

With but a week or so to go until the final month of the year, we are swiftly moving into the ‘party season’.

Whilst I will be looking at a number of festive party styles in the next couple of weeks, I thought I would get us started with a bit of embellishment. If there is one season that requires heaps of sparkly embellishment, be it for brunch, dinner or office party, it is the ‘party season’.

Kate Moss has joined the British Vogue editorial team as contributing fashion editor.

The model, who has appeared on 33 British Vogue covers, will be a hands-on editor working with the magazine’s fashion team to produce fashion shoots, where she will have complete autonomy over the choice of photographers and models.

This will not be the first time that Kate will be involved with the production of the international fashion bible, as in 2005 she guest-edited an issue of Vogue Paris.

Editor Alexandra Shulman says of the new team member – ‘I am absolutely delighted that Kate is going to work with us in this new role. Her undoubtedly brilliant sense of style, depth of fashion knowledge and understanding of what makes a wonderful image will be exciting to see on the pages of British Vogue.’

This announcement follows the recent news that Kate Moss will continue her design collaboration with Topshop, with a new collection to be released in April 2014.

Rita Goes Punk

Via her wacky and wonderful world of Instagram, Rita Ora invited all of her followers into what looked to be a very exciting photo shoot this weekend.

Taking place at midnight on a rainy street in Paris, the pop goddess was with none other than Chanel Head Designer and Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld. Looking ultra stylish, Rita posted pictures whilst weraing a number of outfits that included a white fur coat, a full-length sequinned cape, black deer ears and antlers, all the while dripping in Chanel jewellery and pearls.

She also Tweeted ”Taking a midnight stroll with the man who inspires me to be glamorous at all times without a hint of doubt. Love you uncle Karl. #MidnightinPARIS (sic).”

Could Rita be the next muse for the ‘Karl Goes Punk’ campaign?

London Fashion Week

Hello Fashion Addicts

Apologies for not being in touch, but following an absolutely sublime scorcher of a summer, which was closely followed by the London Fashion Week Shows, it has all been a bit crazy!

I am already missing our wonderful summer, so I thought I would fast forward  to Spring Summer 2014 by profiling some of the very Best of British designers who recently exhibited at London Fashion Week.

Here at ClosetBox we believe in supporting our British designers by offering them a platform to profile, market and sell their items in our unique Boutique showroom. Check it out.

McQ – A design house that never ever fails to make an impact. For its SS14 collection McQ applied a stunning dark colour palette to the finest of fabrics. These were emblazoned with a graphic print, making for a quirky and edgy tailored look, and a dark and smouldering contrast to the usual summer palette.

Giles – a collection that spoke more of Halloween than Spring Summer as garments also appeared in a darker colour palette for the summer months. Silk items were decorated with spooky renaissance style graphic print that featured a number of contemporary fashion icons including Kate Moss. Black leather and lace were also prominent as was the contrasting baby pink lipstick printed garments, and the pastel and grey bat printed dresses, keeping the spooky theme throughout.giles0186DSC_6193.jpg

House of Holland –In typical Henry Holland style, his SS14 collection made for a bright, bold and sassy catwalk. Summer Brights were presented in a range of texture and print, including gingham, floral, check, lace, animal print and denim.  An eclectic and breath-taking collection that is sure to have a huge influence on the high street next year.
